The Maverick is an aluminum yo-yo from Yomega. It features a smooth rubber return pad system. It is one of the few aluminum yo-yos ever made by Yomega, after the older Metallic Missile and Wing Force yo-yos. It has a very small grind rim in the edge and comes with removable spacers that mount on top of cups made by the response pads. The ball bearing that this yo-yo uses is an ABEC-5 bearing. Its shape is ideal for string tricks, and the bearing is made for long sleep times. It has laser-engraved letters on the sides.
The Maverick gains a heavier variation, the Dash, which featured a wider string gap and a larger diameter and height. It also has laser engraved letters.
In March 2012, Yomega released C-bearing versions of the Maverick and Dash yo-yos, both of which featuring Large Slim-sized silicone response pads.
Modification[]
Unresponsive Maverick[]
It is recommended that you clean the bearing with paint thinner/mineral spirits and change to an O-ring response system to make the yoyo unresponsive.
