The Diffusion by YoYoRecreation is the company's first foray into producing high performance plastic yo-yos.
Description[]
The Diffusion's shape appears to be based on the classic Stargazer model, but with a slightly larger diameter. The side caps each have a small dimple in the center for finger spins. The Diffusion also features the usual YoYoRecreation 19.6mm silicone response pads, as well as a large concave C-bearing and a pair of shims for adjusting the string gap width and responsiveness.

Diffusion (2014)[]
In 2014, YoYoRecreation released an updated version of the Diffusion. The new model is larger and lighter than the original. The sides are now entirely concave, to allow for easier and longer finger spins. Rather than the separately-attached sidecaps of the original, the new Diffusion's halves are a solid piece construction.
Like with the original, it features YoYoRecreation's 19.6mm silicone response pads, but this time, it also boasts a string-centering Double Straight (DS) bearing, which was also unveiled upon release. The Diffusion was also packaged with a narrow bearing for responsive play.
While the original Diffusion had met with lukewarm response, the new Diffusion was hailed by many players as the best new plastic yo-yo of 2014.

POM Diffusion[]
In March 2016, YoYoRecreation announced the release of a new version of the Diffusion, which is made of POM (polyoxymethylene) plastic and has a blasted finish. POM's higher density than the polycarbonate of the previous iteration makes it more solid on the string with a more powerful spin.
However, there are slight vibrations due to shrinkage of the POM during the manufacturing process, so a response pad size different than the standard 19.6mm was chosen.
A limited run of these yo-yos were released exclusively at the EYYC and 44Festival. Some examples were sold on YoYoExpert and the YoYoRecreation online store.
