  • This company name was Playmaxx not Proyo. ProYo is the name of the yo-yo they were most famous for. I would go ahead and change this, but I'm not sure what will happen to links in the site. Also, all of the yos listed in the review area under Playmaxx/ProYo use a naming scheme of pro-yo, which is incorrect. How can I help in renaming these properly? --lanceallen 13:17, 27 March 2006 (PST)
    • The company was proyo and they made a proyo yo-yo. The toys were distributed by playmaxx. --Josh Parker 19:50, 27 March 2006 (PST)
      • At the Yo-Yo Museum web site there is a profile of ProYo/Playmaxx. It says that the company name originally was Duncraft then Duracraft in 1976 and then changed to Playmaxx in 1988. The pogs on the old ProYos and Turbo Bumble Bees said "by Playmaxx." I'm no authority so it could very well be two companies one called ProYo and one called Playmaxx. But I always thought Playmaxx was the company that made the yos. Here is a link to the Yo-Yo Museum profile page: http://www.theyoyomuseum.com/museum_view.php?action=profiles&subaction=company&company=proyo

        • Looking at their archived homepage, the company was Playmaxx, making the ProYo line. --Jaco 04:02, 23 April 2006 (PDT)
          • "This is a fixed wooden axle take apart plastic modified shaped yo-yo.The Duncan ProYo is the product of the purchase of the ProYo Company by Duncan. This is the original ProYo II now in brighter colors with the Duncan Logo on the side. 12 cool side caps (You can give us a preference, but we can't promise color or logo choice)." From this II page. I'm not sure about it though. --Wilfred (talk|contribs) 10:45, 24 April 2006 (PDT)
            • Ahhh, the battle of the stores :) Skilltoys seems to agree with me on the Bumblebee, ProYo and ProFly detailed pages - Playmaxx company bought (gives date as 2001 as well) --Jaco 10:57, 24 April 2006 (PDT)

It's spelt Tom Van Dan Elzen: See here. --Wilfred 09:31, 8 Feb 2006 (PST)

About the controversy...[]

Who the criminy was in charge of Playmaxx when they went around and pulled those Cease and Desist orders on those other companies/individuals/etc. for supposedly infringing on the Brake Pad's patent? That's either arrogant/delusional/etc. or paranoid of them! AlexKenderYo (talk) 18:13, June 24, 2014 (UTC)
