Rock the Baby is a basic picture trick. No special mounting skills are required, so the only thing you need to know is how to throw a Sleeper.

There are lots of variations on this theme, as almost any hold, where you have a rather triangular loop of string in your hand, allows you to rock the yo-yo in it. Some of the more notable variations are also listed on this page.

Instructions

TIRockTheBaby1

Step 8: ...and return to your hand. Catch from above.

Trapeze Baby

TITrapezeBaby1

Step 1: Trapeze Baby is a variation, where the yo-yo hangs in a string loop. Start with a Trapeze.

TITrapezeBaby2

Step 2: Bring your hands together...

TITrapezeBaby3

Step 3: ...and put your throw hand against the strings.

TITrapezeBaby4

Step 4: Widen the loop around your free hand...

TITrapezeBaby5

Step 5: ...and bring it down.

TITrapezeBaby6

Step 6: You can now rock the yo-yo inside the loop. In a performance, you might say something like: "Did you know? Trapeze artists rock their babies with a safety rope."

Dismount by simply reversing the steps above until you are back in a trapeze.
