HPK Marketing was a driver of the yo-yo boom in the late 1990's. HPK Marketing started promoting the yo-yo in 1995, both at their local base in Hawaii and abroad. In partnering with Yomega, Spintastics and Bandai, they sold over 30 million yo-yos world-wide. Based out of Hawaii, Team High Performance was the demonstrator team for HPK and travelled all over the world introducing the products, including in countries such as Singapore, France, Hong Kong, Korea and the United Kingdom, as well as the United States.
As late as 2005, HPK Marketing sponsored the US State Contest Hawaii, although the yo-yo boom was already well left behind. HPK Marketing also presented free weekly yo-yo classes at the Ward Warehouse Amphitheater Stage in Oahu, Hawaii.
