The DragonJam is one of YoYoJam's very first yo-yo products alongside the SpinJammer, released in 1998-1999, and was a best-seller for more than a decade. It was originally named the Dragon Fly, but in the early 2000s, the name had to be changed to what it is now to prevent copyright conflicts with Duncan.

Looking back, it probably wasn't exactly the best yo-yo, but for about fifteen bucks you sure couldn't beat it. It had also served as the base model for the legendary composite-material yo-yo, the original SpinFaktor.

Its Butterfly shaped body was effective for string tricks, also boasting an adjustable string gap and a ball bearing axle for longer spinning. It had no response system, relying on the molding dimples on the inner surfaces around the area of the axle like weak starbursts.
