The Cold Fusion design was inherited by Duncan when they bought out the Playmaxx company. The yo-yos in the inventory that Duncan had received was originally part of the settlement from the infamous lawsuit between Playmaxx and Custom Yo-Yo, and were in various stages of completion from raw to finished.

The company first sold the Playmaxx ProYo Cold Fusion line, and then sold the remaining yo-yos with their own marque, as part of the De-Luxxe series alongside the Mondial and the very expensive Freehand Mg. Once the parts supply was exhausted, Duncan had discontinued this model around 2007-2008.
