Dave Bazan was the co-owner of Buzz-On Industries with Dave Muehlhaeusler. In addition, he is a partner in the yo-yo company Throw_Yo. Dave started his career at Spintastics and left the company due to creative differences, before founding Buzz-On. He was also a member of Team High Performance back in the day. In 2002, Bazan won the spin top division at both U.S. Nationals and the World Yo-Yo Contest.

Dave also organizes and runs the Bay Area Classic in the San Francisco Bay area that has been running now for over 10 years. During the early 2000s, he was a world-class spin top player, finishing 1st in the 2002 U.S. Nationals and Worlds in the Spin Top Division, as well as 1st place in the 2005 Worlds.
